Separation » gas flow & dried product
Separation is also a very important process in a drum drying system. It prevents unwanted dust and/or volatile components accumulating in the dryer system.
More about the separation process(es)
At the exit of the rotary drum, dried sludge granules and fines are separated from the drying air. Fines and dust are transported to the mixer for backmixing with sludge cake. All Vadeb® systems treat the full dryer-gas (air) flow to eliminate dust, volatile and vapour, using traditional bag-filters or High Efficiency Cyclones in combination with standard scrubber condensers.
The separation process consists of the following units:
- Drop-out chamber for granule separation
- Bag-house filters or High Efficiency Cyclones for dust separation
- Standard scrubber / condenser, using effluent when available, to scrub and treat the drying air.
