Cleaning Air

In sludge drying, cleaning air is essential. Within the Vadeb sludge drying system:

  • Dust / volatile components are remove and neutralized
  • The remaining air (exhaust gas) is cleaned from odours

Our drum drying systems can be used for other applications as well. Click here for an overview of applications.

Odour Abatement in Sludge Drying

Vandenbroek International gives the highest priority to odour abatement in the main process flow. Therefore, thermal after-burning conditions are incorporated in the process. This is either at the end of the process, using Regenerative Thermal Oxidation (RTO), or in combination with the primary furnace at the beginning of the process.

More about RTO - Regenerative Thermal Oxidation

The major part of the drying air is recycled. The (remaining) dryer exhaust gas is treated after the dust separation in a regenerative thermal oxidiser. In this high thermal efficient heat exchange system the gases are heated up so that volatile organic compounds are oxidised. After odour abatement the gas is emitted through a stack.
